Stephen E. Menefee

January 31, 1945 - March 7, 2022

Stephen Erwin Menefee, age 77 of Chesterton, IN passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 7, 2022. He was born on January 31, 1945 in Coffeyville, KS to Earl and Alberta (Sack) Menefee. Steve is survived by two daughters, Stacey Emmons, Shelley (Thomas) Gregorczyk; two sisters, Mary Lou Williamson, Linda (John) Hall; three grandsons, Alec Emmons, Andy Emmons, Evan Heiner; granddaughter, Ella Heiner; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Thomas Menefee. Steve owned and operated Water Way Pool and Spa in Portage since 1984. He has touched many lives in those years, extending his mentorship to his children and grandchildren and many others. Steve was a United States Army veteran and fought in Vietnam. He loved to play guitar, travel and play pickle ball. Steve was outgoing and fun, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Memorial services for Steve will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304.
