Robert A. Carlson, age 56 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022. He was born on September 17, 1965 in Valparaiso, IN to Leroy and Margaret (Wood) Carlson. Robert is survived by his father, Leroy Carlson; sister, Julie Carlson-McMurtry; brother, Barry Carlson, all of Chesterton; nieces, Kaleia Luikens, and Kiera Carlson; grand nieces, Liliana, Leilani, Kaia; and grand nephew Travis; close friends, Rich Lynch, Joe Ennis, and Danny (Michelle) O'Laughlin; many extended family and other friends; and his loving canine companion, Junior. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Louise Carlson; and aunt, Doris Swanson. Robert loved hunting and fishing with his friends. He was an avid Purdue fan and graduated from there. Robert loved racing, especially NASCAR and dirt track racing. A celebration of Robert's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements made with Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Chesterton Chapel.
