Robert J. Campbell, age 61 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in Hobart, IN. He was born on October 6, 1960 in Gary, IN to George and Patricia (Foley) Campbell. Robert is survived by Daughter, Patricia Campbell; Two Sisters, Sharon Campbell-Knight, Sandy Campbell; Brother, George (Sharon) Campbell; Step-Brother Eddie (Dorathy) Puza; And many great friends and cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by Father, George Campbell; Mother, Patricia Campbell; Sister, Sue and brother in-law Ron Elinkowski. Bob graduated from Wirt High School. In his younger years, he worked pumping gas at Hill Shell and changing out kegs (probably “borrowing” a few too) at Dunes Tap. Eventually, he followed in his father’s footsteps as a Local 150 Operating Engineer and was a proud retired member for many years. During his retirement, he loved spending his time with friends that were like family, watching his daughter follow his footsteps as a 3rd generation heavy equipment operator, vacationing to Jamaica, and getting to spoil his many great nieces & nephews. We hope you remember Bobby C. (Uncle Bobby, Woo-woo, “Ugly”) every time you see the finest fireworks go off, a tie-dye shirt, a huge change jar, some rare coins for the kids to pick from, someone spoiling their dog with extra treats, or a decked-out golf cart cruising the streets blasting Kenny Wayne Shepherd or Hootie and the Blowfish. Robert will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held on June 5, 2022, at 3pm at Edmonds and Evans funeral home.
