Ralph Deon Gobin, age 78 of Portage, IN passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in Valparaiso, IN. He was born on August 4, 1942 in Harrisburg, IL to George and Genola (Wright) Gobin. Ralph is survived by his wife, Carla (Hull) Gobin; daughters, Tambra Vannoy-Gobin and Kim (Cliff) Gobin-Driver; son, Shawn (Tracy) Healy; sister, Vivian Caffee; grandchildren, Dakota Gobin, Sean Harrignton, Clifton Driver III, Allen Driver, Jordan Liebig, James Healy, Austin Healy, Mikaela Healy and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Shanin Healy; brothers, Kenneth Gobin and Don Gobin; sisters, Betty Sharpe, Wilma Stone, Bonnie Patterson and Phyllis Powell. Ralph was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching cooking shows and gardening, especially making his own tomato juice. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be deeply missed. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor Terry Gobin officiating. Burial to take place at McCool Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
