Marvin L. Hall

Marvin Lee Hall, age 74 of Portage, IN passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 in Valparaiso, IN. He was born on July 17, 1947 in Portsmouth, OH to Roy and Cassie (Bailey) Hall. Marvin is survived by his sons, Robert Lee (Margaret) Hall, Timothy Lynn (Nicole) Hall; brothers, Andy Hopkins, Roy "Cotton" Hall; sisters, Lucille (Jerry) Holbrook, Sharon Jesse; granddaughters, Alexis, Adrien, Kayla, Juliana, Madison, Cassandra, Savannah; Grandson, Jacob. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Kay Hall; mother, Cassie Hall; father, Roy Hall; brothers, Edward Hall, Samuel Hall; sisters, Helen Taylor, Goldie Romo, Connie Hall. Marvin was a Vietnam veteran and proudly served in the United States Army and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a retired steelworker, retiring in 2012 from ArcelorMittal as a safety coordinator and crane operator for USW 6787. Marvin's hobbies were camping , his grandchildren, and golf cart poker runs. He enjoyed his morning coffee with his fellow retirees. Marvin will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 4:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368. A memorial visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marvin's honor may be made to VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
