Marianna Ruth Riffett

Marianna Ruth (Trellicoso) Riffett , age 74 of Portage, IN. went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 14th, 2022 while at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 16th, 1948 in Chicago, IL. to Dominic and Julia Trellicoso. She married the love of her life, Melvin James Riffett, on October 28th, 1967. They were married for 54 wonderful years and had five children together. Marianna loved to spend time with her family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was an avid shopper, especially on the home shopping network, and truly enjoyed giving to others. She was a loving and caring person, generous and thoughtful, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always thinking of others first. Her pleasant personality and laugh was contagious to everyone she met. To know her, was to love her. She carried an unwavering faith in her religious beliefs throughout and despite her many years of health battles, always believing in God and looking forward to the day she entered heaven’s gate. She is survived by her loving husband, Melvin James Riffett; brother, John (Annette) Trellicoso; children, Dominic (Kathy) Riffett, Joyce (Mariano) Barron, James (Amanda) Riffett, Ronald Riffett; grandchildren, Dominic Jr., Halie, Kyle, Faith, Amy, Madison, Makaela, Alexis, Marissa, Angel, Makenzie, CJ, Holly, Tyler, Alyssa, Jared (Mikaela), Alexis (JJ), Jayme, Chesney; great grandchildren, Dakota, Kayson, Onix, Remi; nephews, Dominic Trellicoso; niece, Julie Trellicoso; brother & sister in-laws, Diana (Danny) Mahan, Judy (late Robert Kulps), Larry (Rose) Riffett, Larry (Julie) Riffett, late Teresa (Paul) Pala, Bill (Janice) Riffett; lifelong family friends, Patti, Marty, Emilee, and Myla Eagan; many other loving family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Dominic and Julia Trellicoso; daughter, Amy; and granddaughter, Alayna. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor Don Good officiating.
