Mara L. Clarich Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mara Lynn Clarich (Hardin), 63, passed away peacefully in her home on June 23, 2022. Mara was born in Gary, Indiana on November 12, 1958. She grew up in Northwest Indiana graduating from Portage High School in 1976. Mara spoke fondly of her time with family; camping and vacationing with her parents and siblings at a young age and playing on a family bowling league. Mara worked in retail where she met her husband. Further down the line she managed many associates who she would call family. Mara had a generous and loving heart and would welcome anyone into her home or help in any way she could. Mara and her husband spent most of the last 6 years together in their camper on the beach. This was her happiest place and more than likely is where her soul will find peace. Mara is survived by her husband Lawrence J Clarich JR. Children Lee (Brianne) Wisdom, Adam Wisdom, Stacy Clarich, and Randi (Tommy) Smith. Grandchildren Katie, Austin, Jake, Aubrey. Luke, and Emery. Siblings Larry (Susan) Hardin, Terry (Linda) Hardin, Pamela (Jeff) Lyman, Gregg (Sydney) Hardin. Also many nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents Clyde and Geraldine Hardin, her sister Karen Hardin, and her son Daniel Lawrence Wisdom. Visitation will be held at Edmonds and Evans in Portage, Indiana 6941 Central Ave, Portage, IN 46368 on June 30, 2022 from 4-6pm with services to follow. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation the family would appreciate donations being made to PCCF. This fund is held by Porter County Community Foundation, 1401 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso, IN 46383. PCCF is a 501(c)(3) corporation and gifts are tax deductible. The fund was created by Mara Clarich and two of her brothers in 2013. The purpose of the scholarship fund is to assist high school students who pursue college education, with their college expenses. Since 2013, the fund has awarded scholarships totaling over $2,500 to young men and women who participate in Portage High School's Outstanding Young Man and Distinguished Young Women scholarship programs.
