Lydia J. Beal Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lydia Jayne (Gilliam) Beal, age 28 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Michigan City, IN surrounded by her family. She was born on December 14, 1993 in Valparaiso, IN to Jeffery and Rebecca (Empey) Gilliam. Lydia is survived by her husband, Nathan Beal; son, Timothy Beal; father, Jeffery Gilliam; mother, Rebecca Gilliam; sister, Ashlee Fagan; grandfather, Greg Gilliam; grandmother, Peggy Gillliam. Debbie Gilliam, Marvine Empey; mother-in-law, Sonya Beal; brother-in-law, Timothy (Ashley) Beal; sister-in-law, Breana (Joey) Little; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Lydia adored her son Timothy, he was her everything. She loved being on the water and enjoyed paddle boarding on Lake Michigan. As a child she learned sailing and got her love for the lake. Lydia had an eye for making things pretty even in this ugly world. She was a faithful follower of Christ. Lydia worked in accounting before she became a full time mom. She had a very contagious and bright smile that will truly be missed. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and then from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Pastoral Service to be held at 5:00 pm. Services will take place at Portage Missionary Baptist Church, 7045 Lenburg Rd., Portage, IN 46368. Arrangements entrusted to Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
