John Bill Woynaroski, age 73 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 in Michigan City, IN. He was born on December 8, 1948 in Hammond, IN to Theodore and Bernice (Kobeszka) Woynaroski. John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia (Zima) Woynaroski; daughters, Tricia (Nick) Tilden, Alexandria Prichard, Michele Saulsgiver; son, John V. Woynaroski; grandchildren, Samuel, Marissa, Jack, Nick Jr., Lucas, Gwenolyn, Sherry, Kory; sisters, Kay (Terry) Nallenweg, Bernie (Don) Bloomquist; brother, Ted (Liz) Warner; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Woynaroski; mother, Bernice Woynaroski; daughter, Patsy Ferguson; brothers, George, Tim, Jim. John was a hard worker and cared deeply for his family. He was a protector, he was loyal, and he was the rock of the family. John was outspoken and would always tell you the truth if you asked him anything. He was a lifelong resident of Chesterton and graduated from Chesterton High School Class of 1966. John was an avid sports fan and played baseball for the triple 'A' Kansas City Athletics. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was the recipient of a Bronze Service Star and the Purple Heart for his service in the Vietnam War. John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Chesterton Cemetery, 300 E. Porter Avenue, Chesterton, IN 46304. A Celebration of Life will follow from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the American Legion, 798 Wabash Ave., Chesterton, IN 46304. Services entrusted to Edmonds & Evans Funeral and Cremations Services.
