Jim Koziczynski

Francis James Koziczynski "Jim Kozy", age 80 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 1, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Rufin and Balbina (Wieczowski) Koziczynski. Jim is survived by two sons, Christopher (Sharon) Koziczynski, Paul (Barb) Koziczynski; daughter, Mary (Joe) Banks; four grandsons, Ryan (Krystle) Koziczynski, Zachary Von Huben, Eric Banks, Matthew Banks; four granddaughters, Allana (Christopher) Linn, Olivia (Cary Baldwin) Diaz, Lilly Koziczynski, Melissa (Scott) Curran; three great grandsons, Warren Linn, Gabriel Linn, Luca Koziczynski; four great-granddaughters, Rosie Linn, Charlotte Koziczynski, Emmersynn Curran, Blythe Curran; sister, Winnie Chaplin; special friends, the Kovalan family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonnie June Koziczynski; grandson, Jeffery Von Huben; sister, Lou Roles; and two brothers, Ralph Koziczynski, and Paul Kozinski. Jim graduated from Chesterton High School class of 1959. He enjoyed fishing, treasure hunting, metal detecting and walking the dunes. Jim was a very strong man with a very kind heart and was always willing to give a hand to those who needed it. Along with his wife, Bonnie, Jim's love for his family was his life. Graveside Service for Jim will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11:00 am at Chesterton Cemetery, 300 E. Porter Avenue, Chesterton, IN 46304. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304.
