Gregory James Coons, age 60 of Portage, IN passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. He was born on October 3, 1961 in Dayton, OH to Kenneth and Dorothy (Smock) Coons. Greg is survived by his parents, Dorothy and Kenneth of Portage; three brothers, Rick Coons, Ronald Coons, Brad (Georgine) Coons; nephew, Ricky; four nieces, Alycia, Erica, Tarah, and Sarah; two aunts, Mary Jo (Gary) Sarver, Leona (Richard) Keel; and many great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by sister, Laurie Anne Coons. Greg graduated from Highland High School. He loved and enjoyed music. Greg loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed making people laugh. He made friends easily and had a big heart. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 4:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 2:00 pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
