Gavin Michael Scott

Gavin Michael Scott, age 22 of Westville, IN passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022. He was born on September 12, 1999 in Valparaiso, IN to Jason and Traci (Griffin) Scott. Gavin is survived by his grandparents, Michael and Debra Griffin, Jerry and Loretta Scott, and Debra Lange; great grandmother JoAnn Hokanson; great aunts Becky Hokanson, Lisa Hokanson; great grandparents George and Mary Lou Moy; many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Traci Lynn Scott; father, Jason Scott; grandmother, Trudy Scott. Gavin graduated in 2018 from Chesterton High School, Chesterton, IN. He began playing viola in intermediate school which sparked his love of classical music, he continued playing in the high school orchestra. He also played piano. He was a member of the Chesterton H.S. Debate Team, which won the 2016 State Championship. Gavin went to Europe in 2017, enjoying the sights and history of England, France and Italy. Gavin’s passion was learning about the investment world and dreamed of being a Wall Street Trader. Gavin loved reading, writing, music, his pets (of all sorts!), swimming, movies and video games. Gavin was smart, funny and generous to a fault. Gavin was deeply loved by family and many friends. He will be greatly missed. A Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 12-2 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304.
