Evelyn Kaye (Silver) Bailey, age 62 of Hobart, IN passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020 in Chicago, IL. She was born on March 10, 1958 in Gary, IN to Kenneth and Virginia (Pridemore) Silver. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Darrell Bailey; children, Virginia J. (Juan) Perez, Susan M. (Josh) Griffith and Darrell D. Bailey Jr.; grandchildren, Lillian Rose Griffith, Joshua Edward Griffith Jr., Desiree Maria Perez and Selena Rose Perez; great granddaughter, Erica Elena Perez-Sabo; brothers, Kenneth Silver Jr. and Mickey Silver; sisters, Wanda (Bob) Fox, Kathy (Rev. Forest) Ash and Imogene Silver; sister-in-laws, Carolyn (Al) Abitz, Peggy (Rev. Wade) Smith; brother-in-laws, Jeff (Eunice) Bailey, Bob (Judy) Bailey, Dewayne (Valerie-preceded) Bailey and Benny (Cyndi) Bailey; special nephew, Pete (Michelle) Bailey and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Joy Joyce (Widener) Bailey; brothers, Thomas L. Silver and William Silver; sisters, Kennie Sue Jones and Brenda Faye Silver. Evelyn graduated from Lew Wallace High School. She worked as a daycare teacher at Jubilee Child Care for the past 7 years and worked many years with children's church. She was a Sunday School teacher for over 44 years and she loved teaching children God's word. Evelyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She shared her love with everyone she met. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 11:00 am at Jubilee Worship Center, 415 N Hobart Rd, Hobart, IN 46342 with Dr. Dale Combs officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Arrangements are in the care of Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel.
