Eleanor Tipton

Eleanor (Patterson) Tipton, age 90 of Portage, lN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in Valparaiso, IN. She was born on July 3, 1930 in Gary, IN. Eleanor is survived by her sons, David (Theresea) Tipton and Ronald (Cheryl) Tipton; daughters, Connie (Mike) Webb; and Linda Tipton Butler; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Tipton; her son, Dale Tipton; daughter-in-law, Patricia Tipton; her brother, Richard Patterson; her sisters, Helen Patterson (Kane); Elaine Patterson (Hales); . Eleanor was a member of Portage First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed getting together with friends to play Pinochle. Her devotion to her family and avid love for animals never went unnoticed. Her cheery and fun personality made others feel welcome and loved. She loved the outdoors and working in her gardens. She loved playing Skip-bo with her family. Memorial Services will be held for Eleanor on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at Portage First United Methodist Church, 2637 McCool Rd., Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor Michael Lawson officiating. Burial to take place at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lakeshore Paws, 4611 Evans Ave., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
