David "Dave" Ailes

David "Dave" Joseph Ailes, age 70 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 in Valparaiso, IN. He was born on April 10, 1951 in Valparaiso, IN to Clarence and Louisa (Spagna) Ailes. David is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susan (Williams) Ailes; son, Matthew (Carrie) Ailes; daughters, Sheri (Songkham) Irons, Nicole (Lemuel) Frisby, Elizabeth Ailes; brother, Michael (Joann) Ailes; sister, Mary (James) Clifford; 10 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; his beloved pugs, Hazel and Buddy. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Ailes; mother, Louisa Ailes. Dave was a 40 year retired steelworker. In his younger days Dave loved playing softball and bowling. He also enjoyed the outdoors. Dave was a member of the Michigan City Rifle Club and ran the Friday night small bore league. He was an avid Cubs and Packers fan. Dave's love and passion was for his wife, whom he married May 4, 1988. He was a loving and selfless family man and took great pride in watching his grandchildren grow. Dave loved food, the greasier the better. He found peace in his secret hobby of gardening. Arrangements entrusted to Edmonds and Evans Funeral and Cremation Services.
