Daniel Lee "Dan" Lorenz

Daniel Lee "Dan" Lorenz, age 63 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 17, 1958 in Valparaiso, IN to Donald and Marlene (Kirchoff) Lorenz. Dan is survived by his mother, Marlene; son, Charles (Felicia) Lorenz of Chesterton; two daughters, Laura (Ryan) Fortney of Westville, Lynzi (Scott) Bouchard of Pocasset; four Sisters, Sandy (Jeff) Swynenberg, Sharon (Dwight) Baxter, Karen (Mark) Georgiadis, Lisa (Edison) Torres; seven granddaughters, Emma, Evelynn, Brynlee, Delaney, Jayden, Aubrey, and Theadora; grandson, Owen; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald A. Lorenz. Dan graduated from Chesterton High School, class of 1976. He served in the Coast Guard and retired from Operating Engineers Local 150 following many years of service. Dan was a Freemason and a member of Calumet Lodge 379. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and making any kind of jerky. Dan enjoyed four wheeling, cooking, gardening and spending time with his family. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed sharing his pastimes with them. Military Honors for Dan will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
