Charles "Charlie" E. Damron

April 6, 1962 - February 21, 2022

Charles E. Damron, age 59 of Portage, IN passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022 in Valparaiso, IN. He was born on April 6, 1962 in Hammond, IN to Ronald and Patricia (Stone) Damron. Charlie is survived by his parents; wife, Joann; children, Troy (Ryan) Damron and Nichole (Chad) Gagan; grandchildren, Kayla Damron, Austin Filipoff and Ryker Damron and brother, Ken (Sue) Damron. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clytus and Vida Damron, Dalana Watson, Charles Lukens and aunt, Kay Etherton. Charlie always lived life to the fullest. He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother and Papa. He always took his role to be a provider for his family very serious. He was a great friend to so many. His motto was "Family always come first." Charlie was always ready with a smile and the life of the party. He definitely lived his life Charlie's way. Charlie loved his wife, children and grandkids beyond measure and made sure we knew he loved us. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, football and boating. He loved hot weather and spending time in the sun and swimming pool but especially he loved spending time with family and friends. Charlie was diagnosed 11 years ago with interstitial lung disease. He never let that hold him back with living his life the way he wanted to. He now no longer has to struggle to take each breath. Charlie was a stand up man. If you ever needed him he would always be there no matter what. His children always knew without a doubt that they could always depend on their dad no matter what life experience they were going through.
